Pakistan is a country which is in transition state of progress. It came into being on 14th of august 1947. At that time there was nothing like telecommunication facility. The mobile phone was introduced in the country in 1990. Now in 2009 it is the most growing economic sector in the country.

There are six mobile service providers in Pakistan which are Ufone, Mobilink, Telenor, Zong, Warid and Insta. Mobilink and Ufone has largest cellular network. These companies are offering different packages for pre paid and for post paid customers. The common services which are provided by these companies are called service, internet, conference calling, call diversion, smart television, Uconnect, SMS (short messaging service), balance sharing, EDGE etc.


The mostly used service is the
SMS (short messaging service). There are 100 million mobile users in
Pakistan and the Mobilink has the largest cellular family round about 30 million. A mobile user uses SMS for three times in a day. So, these companies generate billions of Pakistani rupees revenue per month by the short messaging service.

Mobile handset is the basic component in cellular world. Pakistan is a large market to sell mobile handsets. There are so many companies which are marketing their mobile products in Pakistan. The companies which a large market share are Nokia, Motorola, Ssmsung, LG, Sony Erricsion, Siemns, Tmobiles and other lot of Chinese companies like china mobiles etc. Nokia is the most popular brand due to its reliability and stability and Nokia is marketing its products by using slogan
