Every website consists of content in the form of articles, news or any other text. Every piece of text consists of particular keywords. Search engine recognizes a piece of content by its tags. Tags are the keywords which are use in the article. For example if an article is written regarding ‘blog SEO’ then its tags will be ‘blog promotion’, blog SEO’ , ‘blog marketing’ and ‘SEO’ etc. When a website is submitted to a search engine then it is ranked according to the keywords, keyword density and links. Tags are very important regarding website SEO and blog SEO. So it is necessary to display these tags on the webpage. So for this purpose a tag cloud concept is used. It consists of all tags or keywords in the article at one place in the form of cloud. It consist another interesting thing which is that all tags would be displayed in different sizes of fonts according to their density or repetition in the article. Commonly all words are displayed in a cloud in random order at different places. But it is optional. It is possible to show the tags in the list format but I recommend cloud format because it looks attractive and has ability to get user attention.
If the cloud is displayed on the webpage then it would be easy for the search engine to rank the page. Second thing is that it would be easy for the visitor to find different article on your website against the same keyword because when the visitor click the word then it would led him to search page with the list of all relevant articles. Cloud may increase the keyword density on your page. So be careful when using it so that the density does not increase more than five percent. Another thing that must remembered that if cloud added more than one time on the same page then the search engine would consider it as spam. So, always try to avoid such spamming actions.
Tag clouds could be formed on the basis of words from the content, meta description, meta keywords and titles of articles. But always try to include those words which have four or more than four characters. If you do not follow the above tip then your tag list would get the garbage like the helping verbs and articles etc. But if you have keyword which has less than four letters then add it manually to your tag list. This would always be displayed in the tag cloud. Â |
