The world has shrunk into a global village due to IT .It has influenced almost all the vistas and spectrums of life. This phenomenon has also promoted capitalistic thinking Due to its mushroom growth and generation gap, at micro and macro levels, is one of its thought-provoking aftermaths. Within last few decades, the communication gap between young and old generations has widened drastically. Youngsters love to spend hours in front of their computer screens to explore new horizons or in futile chatting with a stranger .But they don’t know about the physical deterioration of their ailing parents or the mental agony of their kith and kins. Being a social animal, this social aloofness and isolation is against the human psyche. The art of dialogue, conversation and negotiation has a nose-dive trend in today’s materialistic society. In the age of cut-throat competition of professionalism, organizations prefer to hire IT specialists instead of experienced but classical staff, having orthodox manual methods, who cannot cope with modern demands and skills. So they get rid of latter group through down-sizing or golden-hand shake-“Survival of the fittest, removal of the unfit”. No doubt, on account of IT modern man has touched the zenith of progress and information but on the other hand, in the same era, he has also touched the nadir of moral-degradation and dehumanization. An emotional poise is required between social relations and progress for a better and balanced world. Other wise, we might bulldoze our sacred relations in this blind race of technology and materialism. |
