To err is human but do we learn from our mistakes? Humans have been striving hard to make the future of this world safe and sound. From ‘wheel’ to ‘IT’ we have progressed by leaps and bounds but in modern world most unsecured object is human life.  Havocs of two world wars are the obvious indicators of human lust of power and possession. A giant rampaged 1, 15, 000 Japanese in the span of four days i.e. 6th to 9th August, 1945(Hiroshima 80,000; Nagasaki 35,000). After gruesome massive butchering of world wars it was expected that we will take some serious and concrete steps for peace but ironically G7 (seven giants) of the world have adopted criminal silence and insensitivity. As a result the leading giant is bulldozing weaker lot of countries in the name of ‘war on terrorism’ which can prove as the forerunner for ‘third world war’. But did anyone try to find out the root-causes of current diabolical trend of terrorism?

After 9/11 the whole political scenario of the world changed. No doubt it was a black day in human history and we Muslim condemn that brutal and heinous act. But the situation got worst when giants decided to rampage Iraq and Afghanistan to curb terrorism through terrorism. It further instigated the situation and we Pakistanis are paying the heaviest price of this bizarre war which is imposed upon us by these giants. Besieged government, imperiled economy, shell-shocked masses, constant threat of suicidal attacks, mushrooming of private security guards, paralyzed police, political chaos, national schizophrenia are byproducts of this war. Educational institutes have been converted into castles, social gatherings have finished, and security personals consider themselves most unsecured, foreign investors have evaporated, stadiums are empty. Ironically, Pakistan has been declared “war zone” and international political pundits have labeled as ‘Banana Republic’ and ‘failed state’. But who is primarily responsible for this destability? Yes our corrupt politicians, cumbersome bureaucracy, internal conflicts, dying patriotism and insensitivity are important factors of our current degraded situation but one cannot ignore the foreign hand of ‘international players’. Their infiltration and intrusion have pushed us in pressure-cooker situation. Why George Bush spontaneously used the word “crusade” after the attack on Twin Towers? Why Tony Blair is still justifying his support for this war? Why Obama was surprised when he was awarded Nobel Prize for peace? Is this the war on terrorism or another crusade? These perplexed questions are frustrating us. In my humble opinion biased foreign policies, unfair distribution of resources, exploitation and the old cliché ‘removal of the unfit’ are major causes of terrorism. Majority of Muslims are peace lovers. It is totally unfair to stigmatize them as ‘terrorists’. A person reacts according to his reputation in society and as sages say ‘Never judge a man by what he is saying, always find out why he is saying’.

All religions of the world promote love and peace. Non-violence is the essence of all religions. How the staunch followers of these religions can violate the fundamental rules their religion? To save this world, we have to restore this religious harmony to eradicate this clash of civilization. Failure of Alexander the great and Hitler tell us that this world cannot be conquered with power. Such sort of mentality will only lead us towards ‘Armageddon’. According to prophesies it is our destiny but at least we can sincerely try to avoid it. We have to change our mentality by burying our differences otherwise this ‘blame game’ will throw all of us in hell even before death. Do we want to give this sort of future to our kids? Certainly not!

The article presents such a balanced and logically sound point of view of the current geo-political situtation , so that if (in the words of author) "the great giant " seriously want to make a world where our children have food , education and above all the right to live then they must work according to the author's suggestions.
